Nursing home abuse is rampant. Even Rehab facilities provide poor service. FL is great at having laws to prevent the neglect, but unless they are inspected and followed up to make sure they are compliant, it does no good. I was in a rehab center for 4 weeks and my husband was there every day to get me water, take me to the restroom, bathe me and take me down to therapy in a wheelchair. If I wouldn’t have had him there, I don’t know what would have happened. I didn’t have a BM the whole time, and I kept telling the nurses this and they were supposed to tell the Dr, but the Dr was never seen. I saw the PA once. I would ring the bell at night to have someone come to take me to the bathroom and they wouldn’t come for hours. I couldn’t walk and had a non-motorized bed so I had a choice of crawling to the bathroom or wetting myself. I fell if I tried to go on my own. I was in a lot of pain and couldn’t sleep and I still didn’t see a DR. I used to wonder if they had a DR. on staff. Another reason our elderly/disabled die in nursing ho

At first glance/read this post reminded me of this quote; A group of people coming together in a state of presence generates a collective field of great intensity. It not only raises the degree of presence of each member of the group but also helps to free the collective human consciousness from its current state of mind dominance. --Eckhart Tolle

Thanks Colin.

All of the photos in these albums are the work of Dorothy Gantenbein, an artist who's work was descibed as,"...incredible. It's as if the artist feels our pain, and captures it in a picture..." Dorothy has suffered with athsma her entire life. She has graciously allowed us to use her work to decorate our site. She has a vast compilation of photo essays on her own page, which I urge you to visit. Check her site frequently! Dorothy is prolific. Her work is not for sale. Make sure to double click on the thumbnails. It's worth it! I'll continue to add new photos. Thanks Dorothy, Colin Her site is: http://www.dorothyphoto.com/dorothy_photo/
